Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of a recent helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu, died two days ago.
His body was cremated today in his native Bhopal with full political honors. Varun Singh's brother Tanul and son Riddhim were cremated at his mortal remains.
Earlier, his body was taken to a crematorium in a military truck. Thousands of people thronged his funeral procession chanting "Bharat Mata Ki Jaya".
His body was taken to Bopal on Thursday afternoon. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced a grant of Rs 1 crore to his family.
He was the only survivor of the helicopter crash. However, he died at the hospital after seven days of treatment.
