Mumbai Weather: Now 'Nisarg' hurricane arrives, red alert in Maharashtra-Gujarat

One more hurricane has arrived in West Bengal and Odisha following the recent Amphan hurricane. The storm is raging in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for hurricane 'Nisarg' in the coastal areas of Maharashtra-Gujarat. The effect of this hurricane has already started and heavy rains have been recorded in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
The low pressure area went even lower this morning, according to an IMD report. The storm is likely to hit the coasts of northern Maharashtra and South Gujarat on the evening or night of June 3. Due to which heavy rains are expected in the coastal areas of Maharashtra and Gujarat. An orange alert has been issued for the coastal areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra on June 1. A low pressure area between the Arabian Sea and the target island could intensify the hurricane.
As a precautionary measure, the meteorological department has advised fishermen not to plow the seas until June 4 and directed the fishermen currently in the Arabian Sea to return immediately.
The IMD's Ahmedabad center has recommended activating the DC-1 cyclone warning signal on the coasts of North and South Gujarat and at all ports as conditions at sea are likely to remain very bad till June 4. According to a report, the wind may blow at a speed of 90 to 100 km per hour and its speed may increase to 110 km per hour.
The national capital, on the other hand, has seen a drop in temperature due to rains and strong winds. The weather has changed due to heavy rains and strong winds at night and the temperature has been going down for two consecutive days.
