Hurricane 'Nisarg' is moving towards the coasts of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat

Less than two weeks after Cyclone Amphan Super Cyclone devastated the country's east coast, another hurricane is now looming over India's west coast. This time the storm will hit the coasts of Gujarat and Maharashtra. However its impact may be less than that of the Amphan hurricane. At present it is not even a hurricane as a whole. It’s just a depression i.e. pressure that could turn into a deep depression i.e. heavy pressure by Tuesday morning and then it could turn into a hurricane. The name of this hurricane is Cyclone Nisarga.

State governments have now started evacuating people living near the coast and in low-lying areas. The hurricane is reported to be approaching Mumbai and Palghar. The hurricane is currently 450 km from Mumbai.

An alert has been issued in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman-Diu-Dadarnagar Haveli when a natural storm is likely to hit Gujarat and Maharashtra by June 3.

It is moving towards the coasts of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat. It could collide with Harihareshwar in Raigad district, south of Mumbai and just below the Daman, Gujarat coast on Wednesday. By that time it is expected to develop into a more severe cyclonic storm.

If we talk about the nature of hurricanes, if the situation becomes serious, it will turn into a cyclonic hurricane. Due to which some coastal districts of Maharashtra will come in its predetermined route. Although it is yet to be decided where the storm will hit, it is likely to be close to Mumbai. Neighboring districts of Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are also likely to be affected and heavy to very heavy rains are expected in these areas till June 4.
