Railways will make free movement of empty containers
News of relief has come to the country's exporters who have recently been facing a shortage of containers. According to Indian Railways sources, the railway administration has been given the green signal for free movement of empty containers used by such exporters.
Sources said that free movement of such containers from ports to container freight stations (CFS) and inland container depots (ICDs) would be provided by the railways. This will increase the availability of containers for export and is expected to simplify the export process.
Recently, empty containers were also being exported to China. Its high prices in China yield. However, there are indications that the export of such empty containers to China is also being restricted.
Experts said that even if the export of such containers to China decreases, the roof of domestic containers will increase. In fact, exporter circles have claimed that there is a shortage of such containers used for export not only in India but all over the world.
Many shipping lines have recently ordered containers from outside and this has alleviated the shortage of such containers in the coastal area, especially in the western areas. However, there is still a shortage of containers in such eastern areas, Export Cars said.
In the midst of the Corona infestation and lockdown in 2020, there was a shortage of containers at various ports and export destinations across the country, but now the shortage has eased at the beginning of the new year and such indications are coming out. The railway department has also come forward to alleviate such shortages so that there is hope for relief for both exporters and importers. About $ 40 billion is exchanged annually in the form of shipping charges in import-export transactions.
